Kids & Teens Classes

Small-group movement, mobility and conditioning for 12 to 17 year olds. Bodyweight training, handstands, calisthenics and soft acrobatics in a safe, inclusive room.

All Levels

Beyond Movement now runs dedicated classes for 12 to 17 year olds, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm to 4:45pm. They are small, they are coached, and they are built around what young bodies actually need - movement quality, mobility and honest conditioning, rather than chasing numbers.

The sessions cover bodyweight training, handstands and hand balance, calisthenics skills, and soft acrobatics. No competition, no team selection, no sitting on a bench. Every young person works at their own level within the group, and the room is deliberately kept inclusive - it suits the kid who plays three sports and the kid who has never enjoyed sport at all.

What They Actually Do In A Session

Every class blends the three, so nobody spends 45 minutes on one thing they find hard.

Strength & Conditioning

Push-ups, pull-ups, core and leg work, built up through progressions that suit a growing body. The goal is control and resilience, not maximum load.

Handstands & Hand Balance

Wrist preparation, wall work, then balance. This is the part most kids arrive excited about, and it teaches patience and body awareness better than almost anything else.

Soft Acrobatics & Movement

Rolls, cartwheels, safe landings and floor movement on mats. Soft acro is where confidence gets built, because falling stops being something to be afraid of.

Small Groups, Properly Coached

Class sizes are kept small on purpose. It means every young person is seen, corrected and encouraged by name, and it means skills are spotted and progressed rather than attempted hopefully.

Beginners are the norm here, not the exception. Nobody is asked to demonstrate anything in front of the group, and nobody is picked last for anything - there are no teams.

Try It First

Our introductory passes are open to Kids and Teens as well. They are the cheapest way to find out whether it suits your young person before you think about anything ongoing. Both are arranged through an enquiry so we can set the accounts up with you.

$35

Introductory Day Pass

A single session, and cheaper than the casual rate. One class is usually enough for a young person to know whether they want to come back.

$70

2 Week Introductory Pass

Every Kids and Teens class across two weeks - up to four sessions. The better option if they are unsure, because the second week is usually where it clicks.

What It Costs After That

No lock-in contract and no joining fee. Most families start on an introductory pass, then pick whichever of these fits.

$38

Casual Class

A single class, paid as you go. The right way to try it once before committing to anything.

$32

One Class Per Week

Per week, for one class each week. No lock-in contract - Tuesdays or Thursdays, whichever fits around school.

$52

Two Classes Per Week

Per week, for both sessions. This is where progress really shows, and it works out cheaper than two casual classes.

Prefer to pay for a block up front? We can arrange prepurchase for a school term, or for three to six months. Ask when you enquire and we will put together what suits you.

Enquire About Kids & Teens Classes

Tell us a little about your young person and we will take it from there - including setting up your accounts, which we will walk you through.

How Joining Works

Bookings run through a parent account with the young person attached to it. It takes a few minutes, and you do not have to work it out alone.

1

You Enquire

Use the form below or give us a call. Tell us your young person's age and whether they have done anything like this before. There is no obligation and no payment at this point.

2

You Set Up An Account

Bookings sit under a parent or guardian account, with a child account added underneath it. We will send you the steps, and if it is fiddly we will do it with you over the phone.

3

They Come In

Arrive five minutes early for the first session so we can meet them properly. Comfortable clothes they can move in, and a water bottle - that is it.

Parent Questions

No. Most who start have no gymnastics or calisthenics background at all, and the class is built on the assumption that they are beginners. Everything is taught as a progression, so there is always a version of the movement that fits where they are today.

Often it is a better fit than sport. There is no team, no competition, no being picked, and no bench. Progress is measured against what they could do last month, not against the person next to them - which is why it tends to suit young people who have not enjoyed organised sport.

Soft acrobatics is taught on mats, with coaching and spotting, and it starts with how to land and roll safely before anything else. Eduardo's background is in teaching tumbling and acrobatics to children and teenagers, so the progressions are built for that age group specifically.

Bookings need to sit under a parent or guardian account, with a child account added underneath it - so the first step is you rather than them. Send us an enquiry and we will send you the steps, or set it up with you over the phone if you would rather. Please do not have your young person sign up on their own account.

Start with an introductory pass - $35 for a single session, or $70 for every class across two weeks. After that, casual classes are $38 each with nothing ongoing, so you can come when it suits. If it becomes a habit, the weekly rates are better value and there is no lock-in contract, so moving onto one is low risk.

Yes. We can arrange prepurchase for a school term, or for a three to six month block. Mention it in your enquiry and we will work out what suits.

Holiday programs are something we are actively looking at, and enquiries are very welcome - the level of interest is what determines whether and when they run. Register your interest through the form below and we will come back to you with dates as soon as there are any.

Yes. Personal training is available for this age group, either on its own or alongside the weekly classes - it is worth considering if your young person is working towards a specific skill or coming back from an injury. Enquire and we will talk through whether it makes sense.

For Schools

We are based close to a number of secondary schools, and the 4:00pm start is deliberately set to work with the end of the school day.

If you are a teacher, PE coordinator or wellbeing lead and you think this would suit your students, we are happy to talk - whether that is spreading the word to families, arranging a group, or discussing something run specifically for your school. Use the form below and let us know which school you are from.

Fill this in and we will be in touch. Let us know your young person's age, and mention holiday programs, term prepurchase or one-on-one sessions if any of those are what you are after.
