Teen Calisthenics Near Salesian College

Teen Calisthenics Near Salesian College

The same two stations Salesian students already use - small group movement, handstands and strength for 12 to 17 year olds

Salesian College is at 10 Bosco Street, Chadstone, off Waverley Road between Warrigal and Huntingdale Roads. The college already points students at Oakleigh and Hughesdale stations - and Beyond Movement is a two minute walk from Oakleigh Station, at 37-41 Warrigal Road, Hughesdale.

That means the trip here is one a student is already making most days. We are not affiliated with the college - we are the movement studio at the end of the same journey, and our Kids & Teens classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm to 4:45pm.

What The Classes Actually Are

Bodyweight training, handstands and hand balance, calisthenics skills and soft acrobatics - coached in small groups, with every movement taught as a progression.

Strength Without A Barbell

Push ups, rows, hangs, holds and leg work using body weight and rings. Honest conditioning built around movement quality rather than chasing numbers, which is the right way round at this age.

Handstands And Hand Balance

Wall work, shape drills and balance progressions. It is the skill most students come for, and the one that most obviously improves week to week.

Mobility And Soft Acrobatics

Shoulders, hips and spine, plus rolls, cartwheels and controlled landings. Useful on its own, and a genuine complement to football, basketball or athletics.

Small Groups, No Team Selection

Class sizes are kept small on purpose, so every young person is seen, corrected and encouraged by name. Beginners are the norm here, not the exception.

There is no competition, no team to be picked for and no bench to sit on. For a student who already plays plenty of sport it is useful cross training; for one who has never enjoyed organised sport, it is often the first thing that sticks.

Getting Here From School

The Stations You Already Use

Salesian points students at Oakleigh and Hughesdale on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines. We are two minutes walk from Oakleigh Station, so there is no new route to work out.

Or A Short Drive Down Warrigal Road

Straight down Warrigal Road from the Waverley Road end. Free on-street parking on Willesden Road and Swindon Road if a parent is dropping off or collecting.
