Teen Calisthenics, Same Street As Sacred Heart
A ten minute walk down Warrigal Road - small group movement, handstands and strength for 12 to 17 year olds
Beyond Movement is at 37-41 Warrigal Road, Hughesdale. Sacred Heart Girls' College is at 113 Warrigal Road. Same street, roughly a ten minute walk - which makes us about the easiest after school activity a student there can get to without anyone needing to drive.
We are not affiliated with the school. We are simply the movement studio down the road, and our Kids & Teens classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm to 4:45pm - a start time set deliberately around the end of the school day.
What The Classes Actually Are
Bodyweight training, handstands and hand balance, calisthenics skills and soft acrobatics - coached in small groups, with every movement taught as a progression.
Strength Without A Barbell
Push ups, rows, hangs, holds and leg work using body weight and rings. Honest conditioning built around movement quality rather than chasing numbers, which is the right way round at this age.
Handstands And Hand Balance
Wall work, shape drills and balance progressions. It is the skill most students come for, and the one that most obviously improves week to week.
Mobility And Soft Acrobatics
Shoulders, hips and spine, plus rolls, cartwheels and controlled landings. Useful on its own, and useful for anyone who also plays sport.
Small Groups, No Team Selection
Class sizes are kept small on purpose, so every young person is seen, corrected and encouraged by name. Beginners are the norm here, not the exception.
There is no competition, no team to be picked for and no bench to sit on. Progress is measured against what they could do last month. It suits the student who plays three sports, and it suits the one who has never enjoyed sport at all.
Getting Here From School
Straight Down Warrigal Road
No changes, no connections and nothing to organise - it is the same road the school is on. For most students that is around ten minutes on foot, which comfortably fits a 4:00pm start.
Two Minutes From Oakleigh Station
On the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines, so a student heading home afterwards is already at the station. Free on-street parking on Willesden Road and Swindon Road if a parent is collecting.
Try It First
Both introductory passes are open to Kids & Teens, and both are arranged through an enquiry so we can set the accounts up with you.
Introductory Day Pass
A single session, cheaper than the casual rate. One class is usually enough to know whether they want to come back.
2 Week Introductory Pass
Every Kids & Teens class across two weeks - up to four sessions. The better option if they are unsure, because the second week is usually where it clicks.
Same Street, A Different Kind Of Training
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00pm to 4:45pm, for 12 to 17 year olds. No competition, no team selection, and beginners are the norm.
Enquire About Kids & Teens Classes
Tell us your young person's age and which school they are at, and we will take it from there - including setting up your accounts, which we will walk you through.
